Clinical Sports Massage

60 minutes: $75

Clinical Sports Massage is the application of massage therapy to athletes and others engaged in intense physical activity for performance enhancement and health maintenance.  It is commonly used for conditioning, recovery, remediation of problem conditions, and rehabilitation.  Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.

imageSports Massage Stretch is also known as Muscle Energy Technique (METs).  This is a manual therapy process that involves client and therapist interactions.  It is composed of coordinated series of muscle contractions in precisely controlled directions, at very low levels of intensity.  METs are great for warming up tissues, lengthen tight, spastic, or shortened muscles, and strengthen weakened muscles or muscle groups.

Massage Cupping (add on therapy)

Massage Cupping TM works simply by placing a cup on the skin then creating a suction effect hence lifting the skin creating negative pressure or vacuum effect. This suction lifts the skin, fascia, connective tissue, muscle and all fluid within the tissue. When the cup is or "parked" on the skin, this allows the cup to focus on a specific neuromuscular trigger point. It releases the muscle in a fraction of the time. Either used parked on the body or gliding over soft tissue to enhance blood flow to the area. It expedites the release of tight muscle tissue. This allows the therapist to perform deeper manual work. All this while less discomfort to the client as compared to deep work alone. I invite you to check out www.MassageCupping.com for more information.
